Stephen has over 36 years of experience in the aviation industry of which 25+ years in VP roles of multi-national businesses in the UK and The Netherlands.
Stephen started his career at Lucas Aerospace Power Systems division in the UK where he rose to Marketing manager and drove the introduction of Variable frequency power generation a gamechanger towards the more electric aircraft.
Stephen was VP Marketing Sales in various businesses of Fokker Technologies, starting with Fokker Elmo where he repositioned the business to a market leading, global, aircraft and engine electrical wiring design build company.
Stephen was General Manager at AAR Component Services in The Netherlands before rejoining Fokker as VP Sales and Marketing at Fokker Services and oversaw the Future Horizons Program to keep the Fokker Aircraft fleet attractive for customers, Began the diversification journey into other aircraft types namely Bombardier, Boeing and Airbus, including the repositioning of the MRO business into the VIP and re-delivery markets.
In his last role at Fokker Technologies he was VP Business Development – Commercial programs across the group comprising Fokker Aerostructures, Fokker Elmo, Fokker Landing Gear on the OE part of the business. The aftermarket part of comprised Fokker Services and Fokker Aircraft Services (Now Fokker Techniek). Reporting to the CEO, in the process to a bring “One Fokker” approach, Stephen introduced Strategic Account Management to bring the strengths of the businesses closer together to add more value to both the company and customers. Stephen also led a Netherlands initiative with China for aerospace co-operation resulting in a Technology Agreement between the nations and several sizeable co-operation contracts for Fokker and other SMEs.
Stephen joined Unified International in 2019, after investing in a d contributing to the development of a UK based Start Up company in IT. Stephen is presently working as Project Manager on behalf of Unified International for the City of The Hague to lead the development of a Technology Park which contains several High tech aerospace companies. Stephen is passionate about aviation and his strong experience is built upon his focused, strategically minded approach in identify opportunities and leading teams to realise the business ambitions.
Having worked in both the original equipment and aftermarket supply chains in aviation Stephen has a rounded understanding of the industry and the critical issues that determine success. Stephen´s achievements include:
- Securing numerous large-scale supply and partnership contracts, at aircraft, system and component levels
- Managing Global Sales teams and improving sales and marketing processes
- Resetting business strategies and business positioning for sustainable growth and securing contract to drive and accelerate these developments
- Successfully bringing new innovative solutions to market
- Involved in several Merger, Acquisition, due diligence processes from both the seller and Buyer perspectives, including developing an aftermarket strategy for a leading PE company.
